|Director of Education: Andrea Clark, MSW, RPSGT (#162) Andrea has been in the field of sleep medicine for over 30 years first as a technologist at The Ohio State University Sleep Disorders Center, as the coordinator of a community hospital’s sleep center and then as an administrator over the Sleep Disorders Center and four related departments at Herman Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Andrea left the hospital setting in 1999 to set up and manage two free-standing Sleep Disorders Centers in the Houston area. In 2005 she founded and became President of Sleep Management Centers and Apnea Management Services in Fort Myers, Florida. Andrea has served as an examiner and member of the Exam Development Committee of the BRPT for the last 20 years. In addition, she has served as a board member with the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST), the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).|
Assistant Director of Education: Linda Webster, RPSGT (#396), R.EEG/EP T. Linda began her career in the medical field in 1976 as a staff technologist performing EEG, EP, EMG, and EKG diagnostic testing at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco. In 1982 Linda advanced to a supervisor of the EEG diagnostic laboratory at the University of Utah Health Science Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and later became the manager of three diagnostic service departments including the Sleep Disorders Center. In 2001 Linda moved into the sleep medicine industry, first as a top sales manager for a leading diagnostic company and later in 2005 as vice president of operations for a group of private sleep disorders laboratories. Over the last 25 years, Linda has served on numerous educational and task force committees with the AAST, ABRET, BRPT, AASM, including the BRPT Exam Development Committee.
Virtual Educational Director: Dr. Winni Hofman, Ph.D. Winni has been in the field of sleep for 35 years. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam and has been a faculty member since 1976 teaching advanced sleep courses. After working at the sleep clinic of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, she moved on and began several sleep research projects back at the University of Amsterdam. Between 1987 and 1991 she worked as a senior researcher in an advisory project of the Dutch Health Council and is also involved in a European research project on biological rhythm and sleep. In 1987 Winni co-founded Medcare, an international sleep diagnostics company now known as Embla. In 2000 she co-founded Personal Health Institute, a dynamic technology-based company with a strong focus on R&D in advanced microsystems technology for patient monitoring and clinical diagnosis. Over the last 5 years she developed an internet-based CBT program for the treatment of insomnia.
School Medical Director: Dr. Syed Mobin, MD, FCCP Dr. Mobin completed his Internal Medicine residency at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn Michigan, and his Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep fellowships at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and Jacksonville, Florida. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Mobin is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He remains active in the medical community with meeting presentations, research, and publications on various related medical topics.
